There once was a boy......

I know this is going to be photo overload but it has been a year since the last post!  Well, Parker has turned another year older and it is still hard to grasp that I have a six year old.  Beside that the fact that I am way too young, it is just so hard to believe that my toddler is gone.  This was quite a big year for him.  He started kindergarten and was put in a kindergarten- first grade combo class.  He has loves school!  It took quite a while for me to get used to, but we have been blessed with a wonderful school and the most amazing teacher.  Now to my bragging!!  You can just skip over, it makes me happy just pretending you read it!
Reading was never a supper strong point for him as he tends to excel in the math and science areas, so I was so proud to receive his report card the other day with a note from the teacher telling me he is on  an end of second grade level of reading.  He has become really competitive and has begun to find a love for reading.  At the beginning of the year he was place in gifted.  When meeting with the gifted teacher for the first time he told me to build up Parker's confidence as he would be with 1st and 2nd graders and didn't want him to feel intimidated.  I told the teacher Parker wouldn't have any problems as he is too confident and thinks he is way smarter than he really is.  The teacher looked at me and said, "I'm sure he doesn't think he is smarter than he is, he really is that smart he scored a 150 on the test!"  I am amazed at the things he has learned; a research paper and an essay with paragraphs among other things!!

Parker is a joy to be around.  When I go up to the school to see him for lunch or to volunteer, there is not one person who doesn't know him! 

He still loves to sing loud, real loud.  I love to hear it. I fear others may not think it is so sweet but at least the music teacher at school seems to enjoy it as well.

Parker really is a sweetheart and a good big brother.  He is so excited that in just two birthdays he will be able to be baptized.  Hopefully I will post again before then!!!
